Hell's Kitchen Marafa
Hell's Kitchen Marafa
At about 30 Km from Malindi along a path between villages and acacia woods you come to this fascinating and unique place where you can admire the fantastic colors of the geological depression of Marafa.
Called by the natives; Nyari which literally translates as the place that breaks itself, is more commonly known as The Devil’s Kitchen. The devil’s kitchen was originally a place characterized by sandstone rock, which due to the rains, has eroded over millennia, creating a canyon where pinnacles and ravines alternate creating a spectacle without equal.
The best time to visit the Canyon is certainly at sunset, when the red and warm color of the African sun blends with that of the rock.
